New Home Office Pieces from World Market

Tuesday, August 11, 2020

Since we are planning to change the dining room into a home office, I started looking for some new pieces for the space. World Market is one of my go to places for furniture and Nick's style leans toward mid century, so it seemed like a good place to start.

Dining Room/Home Office

Sunday, August 9, 2020

Do you ever eat in your dining room?  We don't, we usually eat on the porch because that's where you can usually find me  😉 or at our kitchen island. This house also has a gorgeous breakfast room, although we rarely eat there.  We do occasional play games or puzzles in our dining room, but that's about it.

We Moved!

Monday, May 18, 2020

Back in August of 2019 we decided it was time for our family to make a move. I had always said that if our boys both got into Envision Science Academy, (ESA) a charter school, that we should move into the Traditions neighborhood. ESA is in the middle of Traditions. Shortly after that, both boys were proud Eagles at ESA and I again mentioned that we should move.

We listed our beloved house and it went under contract in 10 days. These are some of the MLS shots from the listing. Prepare for photo overload. This is really a digital scrapbook for me to remember our house on Everstone Road.

This yard and our community of wonderful neighbors is what we miss the most. All the neighborhood kids gathered here to play soccer, baseball, football, nerf wars, you name it and it was played in this yard.

It was definitely tough to leave this home behind. We spent 7 years there.

I hope you all have a great week!

Million Dollar Model

Thursday, March 26, 2015

We toured a gorgeous model house by Ashton Woods in Greys Landing  over the weekend.  We were all ready to move in and call it home. One small problem though, it was way over our budget. I will let the pictures do most of the talking.

When you first walk in the first room you see is the office.

Then to the right is the Dining Room.  I love the double chandeliers and the candle sconces.

Butler Pantry

Through the back hallway you pass through the Home Management Area. That name cracks me up!

Then there's the kitchen.  One word: ISLAND.  It could easily seat 5 people.  I want like this in our kitchen.  I just need to figure out the layout.  Oh, and can you see the glass cabinets that are backed by windows.

I also love the wood plank ceiling.  The ceilings throughout had amazing details.

The living room with a wall of sliding doors that allow the whole wall to be open to the infinity pool and lake view.

The view. Enough Said.

A close up of the fire pit.  Who wouldn't want to hang out here?

All images by Mike Drolet.

Tomorrow I will show you the upstairs.  What's your favorite room so far?

Home office Reveal!

Sunday, March 15, 2015

I have been a bit lax blogging lately because we have had company the last couple of weekends-my Bestie Kim came to visit and my parents.  I am so proud of Kim!  She signed up for Team in Training Marathon to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  You can check out her progress on her new blog here.

I finally photographed my desk area in my new home office aka craft room aka guest room. It still needs paint and some artwork hung over the bed, but it's as good as it is going to get for now.

As I mentioned in previous posts, I had most of the items already in our house somewhere or in this room including the desk, bed, artwork, chair and lamp. If you follow me on Instagram then you know this black chair won't be here for long.

I have had this adorable Lowe's chandy sitting in the corner of the room for months and finally got around to giving it a coat of gold spray paint.  Nick was kind enough to hang it for me a couple of weeks ago.

As I mentioned earlier, the black chair isn't staying for long.  I found these guys at Goodwill and couldn't resist brining one home. I am pretty sure I am going to paint my new  chair raspberry or white.  But first I need to settle on a fabric. Have you seen any great fabrics lately?

I would have loved to use the pink velvet leopard fabric below, but it was sold out.

This fabric could be a fun option too, but I am not sold yet.

Do you have a space in your house that serves multi-purposes?  I feel like we all do now days.
